I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was such a clever home made adaptation that I had to share it.

The person who originally posted it described it as being "great for those with kids or people in a wheelchair".

I imagine that every now and then (or more often than that?) a person in a wheelchair must come across a tap that is difficult to reach from their chair. And what of small children in wheelchairs? Is this a potential solution?

An obvious advatange, I think, is that it looks easy to make and easily affordable seeing as all you need (and we're heading into Blue Peter territory here) is an empty soap bottle and some scissors. The down side, as I see it, is that you still need to reach the knobs to turn the water on. Perhaps there's a trick to that too.

The trick to the taps is to buy some Polymorph and a dog ball throw arm. Heat the Polymorph in some hot water until it melts then mould it over the tap and into the dog throw arm let it cool then you will have a long reach grip that fits the taps.

A video explaining the product.

Hi Bob,

That sounds like a fantastic idea. Is this one you yourself use at home?

Paul

No I don't, I was reading your post and came up with the idea as I read it
