Empowerment The Process

Learned Empowerment or Learned Helplessness Your Choice

I sat in the chair looking at the piece of paper I had just dropped on the floor. I needed the paper for what I was doing so I had to pick it up. No big deal. Right? WRONG, it was going to be a problem. I couldn't bend over to get it and I couldn't get out of my chair and walk over to pick it up. You see the chair I was sitting in was a power wheelchair. Wheelchair Properties - for disabled first time buyers

I would like to bring once more the issue of lack of suitable wheelchair accessible properties for ordinary disabled families in UK today. How do we help disabled people who are in desperate need of suitable wheelchair accessible properties? In view of the government announcement this week regarding helping first-time buyers to climb the property ladder – what about wheelchair accessible properties for disabled first time buyers

free training for personal assistants

Blackwood care and LCIL have joined together to provide a free training course for anybody wanting to become a personal assitant to a disabled person. The training is a 2 day course that is designed by the LCIL and delivered by disabled people to ensure that the participants been trained get the most out of the 2 days and have a greater and deeper understanding of the issues that disabled people face.
