Have you ever left home feeling worried that you have not locked the front door? At bespoken we guess it has already happened and you are not the only one who feels this. A crowd funding site has probably found the solution that will make you feel better. I introduce you to this new design concept.

The Christie Street’s website launched a few months ago a new product called Doorbot. It provides your safety when you are either at home or when you are away. Roughly, it is a new low-voltage Wi-Fi enabled doorbell. It is connected to applications on IOS, Android, Apple, cloud software and it also provides software for multiple devices for your home. When someone wants to visit you, Doorbot calls you and allows you to see your visitor and talk via smartphone, IPAD or whatever you use. This gadget will make your life easier: it is easy to install and easy to use.  Doorbot has night vision, it stands up to extreme weather and it can be hardwired where your old doorbell used to be. It is going to work with the Staples Connect system, which unites your entire internet in one App. It is composed of a lithium polymer battery which has to be recharged once a year.

Jamie Siminoff, chief inventor of the concept seems confident that this product will be a success. He wants to establish new partnerships in the coming months. He successfully raised more than $250,000 via crowd funding site Christie Street in 2013; he plans to sell $7 million in units in 2014. According to him, crowd funding impacts the overall process and it allows you to get feedback from consumers. Besides, customers are able to customise their own product which will be sent to their home into a small ABS plastic box.

Currently, Doorbot is sold in more than 60 countries; the goal of Jamie Siminoff is to improve this number as soon as possible. If you are interested, know that the latest version of Doorbot costs $199 and it is possible to buy an additional add on called Lockitron. This product locks and unlocks your front door. In that case the costs reach $349. That is the price of safety. According to you, can this gadget make your life easier?

Chui, the main competitor of Doorbot, decided to launch a similar product. Click on the link below and you will be able to compare the two innovative smart doorbells. For more info on the Chui
