But first a little context - recently The Blackwood Design Awards 2016 named the MeBot the ‘Best New Concept. Designed by Dr Rory Cooper of the University of Pittsburgh, he is the founder and director of the university’s Human Engineering Research Laboratories. The HERL conducts research into a number of areas and project and have cordially invited bespoken’s members to take part in in one of their latest.

‘The Human Engineering Research Laboratories and University of Pittsburgh is working on the second phase of a research study titled “Identifying Unmet Wheelchair Related Needs and the Future of Mobility Technology.”

The research study aims to find out what assistive mobility devices you currently use and what you think about devices that may be available in the future. The results of this study will be used to guide our future research and development efforts. The study consists of a short survey which may be completed online. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and use one or more assistive devices for mobility such as a cane, walker, manual wheelchair, power wheelchair, scooter, or lower extremity prosthesis.

If you are interested, please go to http://tiny.cc/mobilitytech and complete the survey as soon as possible. Completion of the survey takes less than 15 minutes.’
