Product Idea?

Hello Everyone!

I'm Ruby and I am a student at Loughborough University studying Industrial Design and Technology. I will be starting the final year of the degree course in October and am currently searching for product ideas. Ideally, I will be focusing on a product which aids mobility or helps people with a physical disability of some kind to make a task in their life easier.

I was just wondering if anyone on here would be so kind as to suggest a starting point for me? Or if anyone has any product ideas?

Hi Ruby

From experience supporting people who use wheelchairs I know that there is quite a lot of issues with regard to door thresh-hold plates. I know that this may not sound a great problem but when people have to reverse out of doors in order to get over this plate it is annoying for them. You would think that in this day a simple solution like somehow making them lower would do but even in new buildings this is not the case. This may be something that you would consider looking at.
