One of the innovations seen by the bespoken team at Naidex National 2014 was the unveiling of TGAs latest mobility scooter, the Maximo. Following on from the success of the Minimo, the unveiling of the Maximo looks set to be the beginning of a new genre of folding, compact mobility scooters.

Upon its release the Minimo represented a revolution in compact design, capable of folding up to fit into the back of a car, with no parts required in order to dismantle for storage. The straightforward folding system meant that the Minimo could be activated in seconds, using a one handed operation for ease of use.

The Minimo’s lightweight design (weighing just 58.8 lbs) comes equipped with a highly reliable 270w motor, and combines high manoeuvrability with stable turning.  The Minimo also boasts a market leading turning circle (820mm) and ground clearance (60mm).

Due for release this summer, the Maximo will represent a larger four wheel version of the Minimo, while still retaining the compact, foldable size of its smaller predecessor. In spite of its lightweight frame the Maximo can hold a user weight of up to 17.5 stone, and offers an even better driving experience. The powerful motor and high quality controller provide significant performance with a range of up to 12.5 miles. When requiring charging, the battery can be easily removed without the need to disconnect fiddly wires.

The integration of fully active, all-round suspension and pneumatic tyres affords the Maximo one of the smoothest rides available, in addition to the fully adjustable orthopaedic seat which provides greater comfort and support to the user. Anti-tip castors ensure that the Maximo offers increased safety and stability when tackling uneven surfaces such as kerbs, while the high visibility, low energy LED lights make the mobility scooter more visible.

If it’s a compact mobility scooter that is required, then the Minimo is available now with prices ranging from £1,995. For those requiring the larger version then the Maximo is expected to be released this summer, with an estimated guide price of £2,999.
