My boyfriend is semi paralysed after an accident on 15 December 2014.  There is no feeling at the bottom of his feet and the back of his legs.  He has bought a stationary bicycle where he can sit and have his legs outstretched in front of him.  Problem is that his feet are floppy and are awkwardly bending forward (pointy toes).  Do you get pedals that can keep your feet straight (so they are pointing up in a natural position)? Advice would be greatly appreciated. Don't want to go buy a whole new bicycle, only looking to get pedals. Thanks Tracey

Hi Tracey,

Sorry for the delayed reply. I'm having a look to see if anyone in South Africa could supply them. Surely someone must. I would try reminding the people you already contacted. Sometimes people just let things slip if they are busy. They might still come through.

Hi Tracey,

How's your quest going? Have you and Sean managed to get a hold of the self leveling foot sandal? Let me know if I can assist in any way.

Hey Paul

Thanks for following up, eventually got hold of them after mailing the manager.  Anyway, all good to go. Payment has been processed and they are mailing it off today.

Thanks so much for all of your help.

Hi Tracey,

That's great to hear. Fingers crossed hope it works well and please let us how Sean gets on.

Hi Tracey, I'm not an orthotist, but it doesn't look as if it will damage the ankle. It looks to me as if the device will slide relative to the piece of neoprene on the shin to accommodate mismatches in movement between the foot/ankle and the device. It's efficacy appears to be dependent on how tightly the straps a secured and their exact positioning. The type of footwear and how it's secured also appears as if it could have a big influence. If you can afford it and don't might taking a hit if it doesn't do the job, it could be worth a punt?
