A big THANK YOU to Paul Richoux, the Blackwood Foundation's Social Media Co-ordinator, for attending the Edinburgh Access Panel's monthly meeting the other day and giving us a very interesting and informative presentation about the Foundation and bespoken.

Our Panel is made up of volunteers with various disabilities - physical, sensory and mental. We meet once a month to discuss issues around access for people with disabilities to buildings, roads, transport and services in Edinburgh. We've forged close links with Edinburgh City Council, particularly with their Planning department who process applications for planning permission for new buildings and changes to existing ones.

We were interested to hear from Paul about the Foundation's focus on design and technology in supporting the access needs of disabled folk, as well as about the forums on the bespoken website. Next step is to identify areas  where our Panel (and potentially other similar local Panels) can work with the Blackwood Foundation towards common goals.

Here's a link to the Panel's website.

Hi Robin,

It was my pleasure to meet the members of the Access Panel. Thank you for inviting me. I'm sure we can identify a certain area or project that our organisations can collaborate on. Lets keep in touch.

Paul
